Movie Vault — The Home for Physical Media Collectors
An independent catalog, community, and review publication for people who collect movies on disc.
What Movie Vault Is
Movie Vault is a free web app and editorial site built for collectors of physical media. The catalog lets you log every Blu-ray, 4K UHD, DVD, and boutique edition you own, track what each piece is worth using live eBay market data, manage a wishlist of grails you're hunting, and share your shelf with other collectors. The editorial side publishes in-depth reviews of premium releases — including the film itself, the audio and video transfer, the packaging and slipcover artwork, and whether the asking price is fair right now.
Labels We Cover
Reviews and catalog entries span all the major boutique distributors and studio premium lines, including The Criterion Collection, Arrow Video, Shout Factory and Scream Factory, Manta Lab, Vinegar Syndrome, Kino Lorber, Severin, Indicator / Powerhouse, Second Sight, Eureka Masters of Cinema, 88 Films, BFI, and steelbook releases from Warner, Sony, Universal, Paramount, Disney, A24, Lionsgate, and Studio Canal.
Formats Tracked
4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, VHS for legacy collectors, and every variant in between — standard keep-cases, steelbooks, slipcover editions, digibooks, mediabooks, gift sets, and limited numbered box sets. Every format and edition is catalogued as its own object so a 4K steelbook and the standard Blu-ray of the same film never get confused with each other.
Tools for Collectors
Beyond the catalog and reviews, Movie Vault includes a market value tracker powered by live eBay listings, a wishlist with priority and cost-tier flags, a "What to Watch" recommender for picking a movie on collection night, label-specific browsing pages, an upcoming-releases calendar so you never miss a pre-order window, and a community feed where collectors post pickups and discuss boutique announcements.
Editorial Standards
Every review is written by someone who owns the disc — no streaming rips, no trailer-based judgments. Scores are out of 10 and reflect the whole package: the film, the transfer, and the physical presentation. We disclose when a review copy was provided. We do not accept paid placements. The site is supported by display ads, optional ad-free upgrades, and tips from readers who want to chip in.
